EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

(part-time position)

ABOUT US:


The Olmos Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) San Antonio-based nonprofit organization, founded in 1994. The
Ensemble is a chamber group made up a core group of principal woodwind players and concertmaster
from the former San Antonio Symphony and regularly features exceptional guest artists from around the
country and the world.
 Olmos Ensemble currently performs seven main concerts each season, plus additional outreach concerts.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the daily business management of the organization with
primary focus on development, performances and fundraising efforts. This person acts as a
representative of Olmos Ensemble at c
ommunity functions, concerts, meetings and other events and
often serves as the public face of the organization.


LOCATION:


This is a home office-based position, so hours are somewhat flexible. Much of the work will be done
during normal business hours. Prefer applicant have own computer equipment and cell phone.
Supplies will be provided.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in nonprofit management and administration.

  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, grant processes and special events.

  • Demonstrated ability to assist in budget development and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills inside and outside the organization.

  • A self-starter; able to function effectively without continuous oversight.

  • Ability to be very flexible in response to tasks, allocation of time.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that often will include evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Local travel when needed.

  • Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Suite. Website development and maintenance desirable.

  • Ability to work under time pressures. Strong decision-making skills.

  • Ability to consistently maintain a professional image and demeanor.

  • Experience in classical music performance not required but highly valued; appreciation of classical music a requirement.

 


STARTING SALARY:


$23,000 annual, no benefits.
