Universally recognized among today’s top performing artists, Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman ( ) brings to life the glorious violin tradition of the 19th and 20th centuries. Gluzman’s wide repertoire embraces new music and his performances are heard around the world through live broadcasts and a striking catalogue of award-winning recordings exclusively for the BIS label.
Since its founding in 1994, Olmos Ensemble has established itself as one of the premier chamber music organizations in Texas and is increasingly gaining national recognition through its world class performances, live broadcasts and recordings. Comprised of first chair players from the San Antonio Symphony and supplemented by leading musicians from across the United States, Olmos Ensemble’s programming has won plaudits for its innovative programming, showcasing neglected works by female composers, forgotten Baroque gems, and challenging contemporary pieces alongside insightful interpretations of standard chamber repertoire from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
Gluzman and Olmos Ensemble will be joined on stage by American Bass-Baritone Timothy Jones ( ) who enjoys a reputation as a charismatic presence on operatic and concert stages throughout the United States, Europe and South America. The Boston Globe hailed his voice as "stentorian and honeyed" and the Chicago Tribune called his "complete connection with the text extraordinary."
