Azul Barrientos
Guest Artist – Narrator
Azul Barrientos is a San Antonio-based singer, musician, and cultural curator originally from Mexico City. Known for her bilingual storytelling and songs in Spanish and English, Azul connects audiences to the beauty of Latin American and borderlands traditions. Creator of Noche Azul de Esperanza, she has performed over 100 multimedia concerts and collaborated with icons like Lila Downs and Eugenia León.

Her upcoming project includes three albums: one featuring her original songs exploring identity and resilience; a second celebrating Mexico’s traditional music, including corridos (a narrative metrical tale and poetry that forms a ballad, often featuring topics such as oppression, history, the vaquero lifestyle, and other socially relevant themes); and a third honoring her 90-year-old mother by preserving cherished songs passed down through generations.
Azul continues to inspire through her artistry and dedication to cultural preservation.
