Kai Rocke

Kai Rocke embraces a varied career as an orchestral performer, chamber musician and teacher. He has been the Contrabassoon/Utility Bassoon with the Oregon Symphony since the 2021–22 season and also serves on faculty at Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles’ (YOLA) National Festival during their annual summer festival.

A graduate of The New England Conservatory and Rice University, he was also a Rosemary and David Good Fellow with the Minnesota Orchestra before moving to Oregon. Prior to his fellowship he was an avid teacher in the Houston area and 2nd bassoon with the New Bedford Symphony. Mr. Rocke has performed with other various ensembles including the San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony, 45th Parallel’s Arcturus Winds and the Amici Wind quintet. His primary teachers include Benjamin Kamins, Gregg Henegar, Sue Heineman and Lewis Lipnick.
